Eight-mile M6 queues as jack-knifed lorry damages bridge – updates
There are long delays on the M6 southbound towards Stoke-on-Trent this afternoon after a jack-knifed lorry damaged a bridge. The incident occurred at junction 15 for the A500 D to Stoke-on-Trent and queues stretch back over eight miles to junction 16 for Crewe.
There is also heavy traffic on the A500 through the city as drivers attempt to avoid the M6. Traffic monitoring service Inrix says there is also congestion on the opposite carriageway as drivers slow down to take a look.
