Edinburgh drivers face delays following vehicle collision at busy …
A collision on the A720 Eastbound[1] just after Baberton Junction has led to “lengthy” delays for drivers.
The incident which happened at around 10.26am on Sunday morning led to queues being built up with police and TRISS in attendance to clear up debris. All vehicles were on the hard shoulder at around 10.45am.
Police Scotland[2] confirmed that there were no reports of any injuries with four vehicles involved in the crash. One driver was issued with a ticket.
At around 10.51am, Traffic Scotland confirmed that traffic was “tailed back” to Hermiston Gait with drivers to expect “lengthy delays”.
At 10.28am, Traffic Scotland wrote on X, formally known as Twitter: “A720 Eastbound is restricted just after Baberton Junction due to a RTC, queues are building so take care on approach and expect delays.”
They then followed up at 10.51am and said: “All vehicles are now on the hard shoulder, police and TRISS are clearing debris from the carriageway.
“Traffic is tailed back to Hermiston Gait so expect lengthy delays.”
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving four vehicles on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass, around 10.20am on Sunday, 24 September, 2023.
“There were no reports of any injuries and one driver was issued with a ticket.”
