Driver dies after crash involving car and lorry on A14

A man in his 30s has died following a crash on a Cambridgeshire[1] A-road. Police and paramedics were called to the A14[2] near Chippenham at around 4.50am on Tuesday, August 29.

The crash involved a black Vauxhall Corsa and a HGV[3]. The Corsa’s driver was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.

Unfortunately nothing could be done to save him and he died later that day. Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are urging anyone with information to contact them.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “A 33-year-old man from Kent has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and causing death whilst disqualified from driving. He has been released on bail until 28 November. Anyone who witnessed the collision should call 101 and ask to speak to a member of the Road Policing Unit, quoting Op Clements.”
