Child seriously hurt after pick-up truck crash on Essex border

A child has been seriously injured following a crash with a pick-up truck on the Essex border. Officers are appealing for information following the crash in Waltham Forest that involved a three-year-old child.

Police were called at 3.30pm on Friday (September 8) to Shrubland Road. The crash was reported between the pick-up truck and the three-year-old on the road.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: "The child was immediately taken to hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and has been spoken to by police. There has been no arrest.

"The investigation is being led by officers from the Met’s Serious Collison Investigation Unit who are appealing for witnesses, information and any dash-cam footage.
