Young woman trapped in car after crash with van on busy Nuneaton …

A young woman was left trapped in her car after a crash with a van on a busy Nuneaton[1] road. The female, who has not been identified but is aged in her 20s, had to be freed from a Kia Picanto following the collision with a Mercedes Sprinter van on Croft Road, close to its junction with Greenmoor Road last night (August 17).

Firefighters worked with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS)[2] to ensure the woman was removed from the car safely. A WMAS[3] spokesman said:”We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a van on Croft Road at 6.26pm, one ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

“On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was the driver of the car. Ambulance staff worked with colleagues from the police and fire services to carefully free the woman from the car, before she was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to University Hospital Coventry[4] and Warwickshire[5].”

Warwickshire Police[6] were called to the scene and a spokesman told CoventryLive: “This was a two-vehicle collision between a Mercedes Spriner and a Kia Picanto in Croft Road.

“One of the cars was stuck on a roundabout. A woman in her 20s stuck in the Kia. A closure was put in place at junction of Croft Road and Greenmoor Road.”
