Woman taken to hospital with serious injuries after crash near St Neots

A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a multi-vehicle crash near St Neots. The incident was reported to have taken place at around 9am on August 1.

Emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance, were all called to the A428 near Eltisley to reports of a crash between a semi-truck and a car. The driver of the car, a woman in her 40’s, was badly hurt, while the truck driver’s condition is unknown.

The A428 Cambridge Road was closed in both directions while recovery and investigation work on the road took place. A number of diversion routes were in place and people were asked to avoid the area.

Firefighters used specialist equipment to release the car driver from her vehicle. A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire[2] Police confirmed that the woman’s condition was not life-threatening.

The road reopened shortly after 1pm, with normal traffic conditions resuming. They asked anyone with any information on the incident to call 101, quoting incident 124 of today.
