Woman taken to hospital after crash that shut road for hours

A woman has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a parked vehicle. Officers from Derbyshire police[1] were called to reports of a collision on Clowne Road at Stanfree, Bolsover, just before 10.40am on Thursday (August 24).

A Kia Picanto is reported to have crashed into a parked car. Emergency services, including East Midlands Ambulance and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue[2], attended the incident.

The driver of the Kia, a woman aged in her 60s, was taken to hospital. She is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.

The road was closed for a while emergency services attended the scene, but it reopened just before 3pm yesterday afternoon. The closure was from the Mill Lane junction to the Appletree Road junction[3] and resulted in heavy traffic around the area.

One police car was stationed at each side of the road closure, with a cordon visible inside the road closure. Inside the taped-off area was a vehicle on its side, with a police van and car parked near it.
