Woman put in hospital after hit-and-run crash in Ilford where driver …

A woman was hit by a car in a hit and run crash on the Essex border. Emergency services descended on Green Lane in Ilford last night (August 12) following the serious crash.

The incident took place at 11.19pm and involved the car and a single pedestrian, who was tended to by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. The Met Police are investigating the incident as the driver of the car failed to stop at the scene.

The police added that the woman's injuries were not life threatening or life changing. A spokesperson for the Met said: "We were called at 23:19hrs on Saturday, 12 August to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Green Lane, Ilford.

"Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital with a head injury. Her condition was assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

"The driver of the car failed to stop and the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate them. Any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 8039/13Aug. You can also report information online[2] and tweet @MetCC[3]."
