Woman arrested in Surrey after crashing into ‘giant promotional …
A woman has been arrested after crashing into a giant coffee cup outside a Surrey petrol station. Members of the public went to check on the woman following the crash in Farnham and called police because they believed she was drunk.
She wandered off down the road following the incident but was breathalysed – with police saying she blew more than three times the legal limit. Surrey Police[1] is urging anyone who sees suspected drink-driving to call police.
A Surrey Police spokesperson said: “Member of the public called police after seeing a vehicle drive erratically in Farnham[2]. After ploughing into a promotional giant coffee cup at the petrol station, the car stopped & members of the public checked on the driver to find they suspected they were drunk.
“Officers attended and located the driver who had wandered off down the road. She blew 130ug (limit 35) at the roadside and was arrested. A blood sample has been taken and sent off for analysis. If you suspect someone is driving under the influence, call 999.”
