Video shows moment portable loo found in road – before it starts …
Travelling along the country lanes of North Wales can require a little patience: cows can block traffic, sheep can escape and the odd pheasant might jump out in front of vehicles.
Rarely, however, are toilets responsible for holding up the traffic. Driving along a back road near Abergwyngregyn[1], Gwynedd[2], farmer Gareth Wyn Jones[3] was not impressed to see a green portable toilet blocking his way.
With no way round, and cursing under his breath, he had no option but to push the obstacle out of the way. A video of the incident has since gone viral amid concern the loo might have been occupied at the time.
As Gareth exited his vehicle, the toilet started to wobble. One woman thought a banging noise was coming from inside.
A man shuddered to think someone was sat inside wondering what was going on. “I’d loved it if he got out and said 'do you mind?'” said another.
The hill farmer from nearby Llanfairfechan[5] parked up his Land Rover but was in too much of a hurry to think about knocking. Instead, he manhandled the bog 40 yards up the lane to a passing spot.
As Gareth has a huge social media following[6], he shared a clip of the incident on multiple channels. Predictably, it sparked a slew of toilet gags on social media.
“It was dumped!” suggested one person. Another said: “Watch out for the skid marks on the road.” A third added: “I’ve heard of a pit stop but never a sh*t stop.”

Gareth said strong gusts of wind had apparently blown the toilet down the lane from a nearby building site. He too was glad no one jumped out as he pushed it to safety.
“I was in a bit of a rush, so I didn’t knock on the door first,” he said. “Imagine if someone was inside having a number two – they would have one hell of a shock!”

Applauding his efforts, a woman noted the wind had “turned a convenience into an inconvenience”. Another wondered what drivers coming the other way must have thought of a portaloo apparently ambling up the lane with no one else in sight.
But for some, Gareth’s video revealed something even more shocking. “I’m amazed at his luck,” said a woman. “A smooth stretch of road without potholes!”
