Two teenagers fighting for life after scrambler bike crash

Two teenagers are fighting for life after a scrambler bike crash in West Derby.[1]
Emergency services, including police[2] and an air ambulance, arrived at the scene of the incident on Yew Tree Lane[3], at around 11.20am on Monday, August 14. At the scene they found two men, 17 and 18, had been seriously injured in a crash involving a scrambler bike and a Ford C-Max.
The two teenagers, who were on the bike, were rushed to hospital. Police[4] have today confirmed they are both in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting with enquiries. A road closure was in place for most of the day, while officers dealt with debris and carried out accident investigation work.
A spokesperson for Merseyside police[6] said: "We are currently investigating following reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike in West Derby today, Monday 14th August. We were contacted at just before 11.25am following reports a scrambler bike had been in collision with a Ford C-Max on Yew Tree Lane.
"Two males who were on the bike have been taken to hospital. The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting with enquiries.
