Two injured after crash on major Cardiff road

A crash on the M4 at junction 33 caused heavy traffic on the A4232 northbound carriageway for motorists trying to get onto the M4 on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident, which involved a lorry and a car and caused the car to flip over, happened on the roundabout at junction 33 and shut the southbound side heading into Cardiff. It also brought traffic to a standstill on the northbound side which tailed right back to Culverhouse Cross and briefly to Leckwith.

Two people are reported to be injured, with one person taken to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, and the vehicles were removed by 4.19pm. The collision, which happened at 2.30pm, caused severe congestion northbound which finally cleared at 6pm.
