Two arrested after man stabbed in face and neck

Two people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the early hours of the morning.
Police were called at 5.30am today, Friday August 11, to reports a man had been stabbed following a dispute in a house on Hale Drive, Speke[1]. He was taken to hospital with wounds to his neck and face, which are described as significant but not life threatening.
A woman and a man from Liverpool have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They have been taken to a police station where they remain in custody for questioning.
A cordon remains in place this afternoon on Hale Drive and Eastern Avenue, with a number of yellow evidence markers in the road, on the pavement and nearby grassed area. Forensic officers have been seen gathering evidence and putting it into bags, while evidence markers have been put down close to a black Nike Air Max cap and a pair of silver sparkly shoes.
Police confirmed they have been carrying house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.
Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said: “We are in the very early stages of an investigation into an incident which has left a man with a significant wound to his neck after a violent attack at a house in the area.
“Although we have made two arrests soon after the incident we are still searching for a man who was involved in the attack. If you were on Hale Drive or Hale Road in the early hours of this morning and saw the incident or anything suspicious please contact police immediately.
“Information from our community is vital if we are to stop anyone using knives and dangerous weapons in our community to seriously harm others.
“Such crimes are violent, unacceptable and can cause fear on our streets. Our local officers remain in the area and are committed to removing anyone who uses such weapons in our community.”
