Three in hospital after car crash on M1 near Wakefield

Three people were rushed to hospital this weekend after two cars crashed into each other on the M1.

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service[1] say they received a call at 8.29am on Saturday, August 12, which reported a crash between the two cars on the M1. This took place between junction 39 and junction 40.

Three ambulances, along with the Hazardous Area Response Team, rushed to the motorway, with three people taken to the hospital. Two were taken to Leeds General Infirmary while the third was taken to Pinderfields Hospital.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “We received an emergency call at 8.29am on Saturday morning to report a collision between two cars on the M1 between junctions 40 and 39.

“Three ambulances and the Hazardous Area Response Team were dispatched to the scene and three patients were conveyed to hospital – two were taken to Leeds General Infirmary and one was taken to Pinderfields Hospital.”

Previously, West Yorkshire Police said one woman was “seriously injured”[3] in the crash between a Ford Fiesta and a Vauxhall Corsa. They also said the crash took place on the M1 Southbound.
