Thieves dumped a stolen car and fled in another vehicle during a chase which saw the police helicopter take to the skies. Officers were called to reports of 'suspicious activity' on Peel Close in Foleshill[1] on Monday.

Eyewitnesses say they were trying to chase a vehicle which was later 'abandoned.' A police helicopter was reportedly circling the skies in pursuit of suspects attempting to flee in a suspected stolen car in Coventry[2]. It was seen overhead at around midday on Monday (August 14).

A stolen car was recovered with the suspects believed to have fled the scene in a 'second vehicle.' A full investigation has now been launched by West Midlands Police[3].

A spokesman for West Midlands Police[5] said: “We were called at around midday yesterday (August 14) to Peel Close, Coventry[6] to reports of suspicious activity. Officers recovered a suspected stolen car and believe offenders left the scene in a second vehicle.
