The Ashford restaurant with outdoor soul music celebrating …

A restaurant in Kent will be holding an outdoor soul music evening this summer to celebrate LGBTQIA+ talent. Titled, Soul Sessions, the live music set will take place between 6.30pm and 8:30pm on August 24 at wagamama in Ashford.[1]

Soul Sessions will celebrate some of the diverse and empowering voices hailing from the LGBTQIA+ community as part of their pride celebrations this year. The popular Japanese inspired eatery will also be treating customers to a free summer cocktail or mindful drink if they quote ‘Soul Sessions’ on arrival during the event

Cocktails available include a Pandan Colada, a twist on the classic pina colada with the addition of fragrant pandan, a refreshing Sake Spritz, and a Thai Chilli Margarita for those that love some heat in their cocktails. For those wanting a non alcoholic option, their mindful drink menu will be on offer including the cherry blossom lemonade.

Toby Corton will be performing to Kent diners on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace next week and everyone is invited. For those who have not visited wagamama before, can expect a menu of[3] ramen noodles, donburi rice bowls, teppanyaki noodles, fragrant curries and nutritious soulful bowls.

Diners can expect Japanese and pan Asian cuisine at wagamama

Grilled chicken ramen is a popular dish at the Asian chain, and is like a hug in a bowl. Warm and comforting, it’s made up of marinated chicken breast, noodles and a rich chicken broth with dashi, miso and topped with pea shoots and spring onion.

Another much-loved dish is pad Thai, consisting of rice noodles, chicken, prawn, egg, beansprouts, leeks, chilli and red and spring onion, topped with crispy fried onions, mint, coriander and a fresh lime wedge. And of course, one of the most ordered dishes at wagamama is the iconic chicken katsu curry

A chicken fillet is coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs and comes with sticky white rice and an aromatic katsu curry sauce. A children’s menu, vegan menu and non-gluten menu is also available.

In addition to the upcoming Soul Sessions event, wagamama kicked off their pride celebrations this year with a special event series to give back to their restaurant teams. The brand hosted their team members at drag brunches across the UK. They closed down a number of restaurant locations early for an afternoon of free cocktails, drag hosts, DJ sets and a specially curated menu to celebrate diversity across the wagamama team.
