TfL says there will be some travel disruption this weekend
Londoners travelling into the capital this weekend could be faced with disruption due to closures on TfL services.
Transport for London (TfL) has asked Londoners to check before they travel this weekend.
To get the most latest updates on the Underground, DLR and Overground you can use the TfL app or website.
Here is the full list of closures over the weekend, August 11 to 13.
Wembley Central station
On Saturday August 12, Wembley Central station will be closed due to planned engineering work. There will also be no Chiltern Railways service to/from Wembley Stadium station due to industrial action.
Those attending the Rugby Challenge Cup Finals are asked to use alternative routes via the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines to/from Wembley Park.
Bakerloo line
Friday 11 to Thursday August 17
No service between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone
For travel to/from central London, use alternative routes via the Jubilee, Metropolitan, Central or Piccadilly lines, London Northwestern Railway services or local bus routes.
For stations between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone, use bus routes 18, N18, 36, 112, 266, 487, 718 and 719.
Bus changes at Kenton
Due to a burst water main, buses on route 718 are being diverted and cannot serve Kenton station. Until the water works are completed, a special shuttle bus between Kenton and Harrow & Wealdstone will run every 30 minutes.
For southbound journeys from Kenton towards central London, please use the Metropolitan line from Northwick Park station. For destinations along the Bakerloo line towards Queen’s Park, change at Preston Road for bus 718.
Piccadilly line
Friday August 11 during Night Tube
No service between Hammersmith and Heathrow from 0.45am until 4.30am (Friday night/Saturday morning)
Use Night Bus routes, 24 hour bus routes or the rail replacement bus service.
No service between Acton Town and Heathrow, including Saturday Night Tube
Use alternative Tube or Elizabeth line services or either of the two rail replacement bus services.

One replacement bus service will call at all stops between Acton Town and Heathrow, and the other will provide a direct service between Hammersmith and Heathrow Terminals 2&3.
London Overground
Friday 11 to Thursday August 17
No service between Watford Junction and Euston
Use London Northwestern Railway services or bus routes 718 and 720. Bus routes 718 and 720 are temporary routes that will run throughout this line closure. Bus route 720 will run every 20 minutes between Watford Junction and Harrow-on-the-Hill (via Harrow & Wealdstone). Bus route 718 will run every 10 minutes between Harrow & Wealdstone and Queen’s Park.
Sunday August 13
No service between Sydenham and Crystal Palace
Use London Overground services to West Croydon for stations between New Cross Gate and Sydenham. Use local bus routes between Anerley and Crystal Palace.
Monday 14 to Thursday August 17
No westbound service between Camden Road and Willesden Junction after 11.45pm each night
The last two trains from Stratford (at 11.59pm and 0.15am) will terminate at Camden Road.
The last westbound service will depart from Stratford at 11.44pm.
Use Northern line services from Camden Town or London Overground services from Euston to Willesden Junction. From Camden Road, use local bus route 46. From Camden Town, use bus routes 24 or 168.
Tuesday 15 to Friday August 18
No southbound service between Willesden Junction and Shepherd’s Bush until 6.15am each day.
Use local bus routes 220 or 228. The 5.51am train from Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction will start from Shepherd’s Bush at 6am. The 6.08am from Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction will not run.
The first through train from Willesden Junction to Clapham Junction will depart at 6.23am.
Elizabeth line
Sunday August 13
No service between Gidea Park and Liverpool Street (westbound only) until 6.30am.
Use local bus routes or the replacement bus service.
Monday 14 to Thursday August 17
Trains will not stop at Burnham or Taplow after 8.30pm each night
A rail replacement bus service will run every 30 minutes.
London Trams
Till Sunday August 13
No service between Wimbledon and Therapia Lane
Use local bus routes or the tram replacement bus service. Tram replacement buses will run between Wimbledon and Waddon Marsh, calling at Morden Road and Belgrave Walk, then all stops to Waddon Marsh.
Woolwich Ferry
Until Sunday September 3, the Woolwich Ferry is closed for essential dry dock works. Drivers are encouraged to use alternative river crossings at Dartford, Blackwall, and Rotherhithe.
Pedestrians should use the Woolwich Foot Tunnel or the DLR between King George V and Woolwich Arsenal.

Friday August 11
Whitehall area
A ceremonial wreath laying by the UK Armed Forces Rugby League will be taking place in the Whitehall area from 9am until 12pm. Whitehall will be closed between Parliament Square and Horse Guards Avenue. Large crowds are expected.

ExCeL London
The TRU Athlete International Sporting and Fitness Festival will be taking place from 9am until 6pm each day. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.
Finsbury Park
The Krankbrother Annual Music and Food Series will be taking place in Finsbury Park from 1pm until 10pm each day. Large crowds are expected.
Crystal Palace Park
The South Facing Festival will be taking place at the Crystal Palace Bowl in Crystal Palace Park from 5.30pm until 11pm each day. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.
Gunnersbury Park
The Gunnersbury Park Concert will be taking place in Gunnersbury Park from 2pm until 11.59pm each day. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.
Saturday August 12
Wembley Stadium
Wembley Stadium will be hosting the Betfred Challenge Cup Final from 11am until 9pm.
The women’s final between St Helens and Leeds Rhinos will kick off at 12pm, the men’s final between Hull Kingston Rovers and Leigh Leopards will kick off at 3pm, and the additional 1895 cup between Halifax Panthers and Batley Bulldogs will kick off at 5.30pm. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.
Mountsfield Park, Lewisham
The Garage Nation Festival will be taking place at Mountsfield Park from 11am until 11pm. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected.
Lord’s Cricket Ground
Lord’s Cricket Ground will be hosting the Hundred Cricket event from 3pm until 10pm. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected.
Twickenham Stadium
Twickenham Stadium will be hosting a rugby match between England and Wales from 1pm until 10pm. Kick-off is at 5.30pm. Road closures will be in place from 3.30pm until 9.30pm approximately. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected.
The O2, North Greenwich
A boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Robert Helenius will be taking place at the O2 from 5pm until 11.30pm. Large crowds and increased traffic are expected.
Sunday August 13
Ealing area
The Ealing Chariot Festival will be taking place in the Ealing area from 9.30am until 4.30pm.
Chariots will take a route through Chapel Road, Uxbridge Road, Culmington Road and Mattock Lane, returning at Chapel Road. Road closures will be in place from 10am until 12.30pm. Large crowds are expected.
Piccadilly area
There will be road closures from 8am until 5pm between Old Park Lane and Down Street for a crane operation on Sundays 13 and August 20.
Until Saturday August 12
Until 5pm on Saturday August 12, there will be a southbound road closure on Great Cambridge Road between Turkey Street and Hoe Lane.
From Saturday August 12
From 10pm on Saturday August 12, the north-west slip road from the A40 Westway to A3220 West Cross Route will be closed for repair works. This closure will be in place for up to 18 months. A short diversion will be in place via the A219 Wood Lane slip road.
There may be some disruption to traffic, including local buses, on all approaches to the junction at Wood Lane during this time. Please allow more time for your journey if you are travelling through the area.
St Thomas Street
From 9pm on Monday August 14 until 5am the following morning, St Thomas Street will be closed at the junction with Great Maze Pond, preventing access to Borough High Street.
Tooley Street
Until Saturday August, every Wednesday to Friday night from 9pm until 5am the following morning, the north-westerly bus lane will be closed between its junctions with Tanner Street and Fair Street.
A3, Borough High Street
Until Thursday August 31, every Monday to Thursday night from 10pm until 5am the following morning, Borough High Street will be closed northbound between its junctions with Borough High Street (western arm) and Duke Street Hill. It will also be closed southbound between its junctions with Duke Street Hill and St Thomas Street. Local access to London Bridge Street will be maintained.
Southwark Street
Until Thursday August 31, every Monday to Thursday night from 10pm until 5am the following morning, Southwark Street will be closed eastbound between its junctions with Southwark Bridge Road and Borough High Street. Local access will be maintained.
Piccadilly underpass
Until Monday December 18, closures on the Piccadilly underpass are in place for tunnel improvement works.
Wandsworth Bridge closure
Until the end of September 2023, Wandsworth Bridge will be closed to all motorised traffic. This is while the London Borough of Wandsworth carries out essential safety repairs. The bridge will be open for walking. If you are cycling, you’ll be able to push your bike across. Diversions will be in place, but all local roads and nearby river crossings are expected to be extremely busy.
Bus routes C3, 295 and 28 will stop short north of the river while route N28 will be diverted across Battersea Bridge. A temporary bus route, 728 will run between Wandsworth Town Centre and Fulham Broadway via Battersea Bridge. Plan ahead, leave more time for your journey and use alternative routes and modes where possible.
