Somerset weather: Met Office forecast return to mid-20C temperatures

Warmer weather is set to brighten Somerset later this week - but showers and cloudy conditions will continue to linger around. The school holidays have had a damp feel to them so far with the mercury struggling to break past 20°C.

However, the Met Office[1] has predicted that temperatures are set to perk up during this week around Somerset. Some areas of the county including Wincanton and Yeovil could see thermometers rise to 24°C on Thursday (August 10).

Conditions are set to stay cloudy over the next few days building into Thursday, including rain for some areas of Somerset tomorrow morning (August 8). Even with warmer temperatures forecast, Thursday itself is set to remain cloudy for a large part of the day before the brighter spells in the afternoon and early evening.

Moving into Friday and the weekend, it appears showers that have been ruining the summer so far for many are set to make a return. Temperatures are also forecast to dip back down to the low-20s and high teens as well.
