Road closed as motorcyclist suffers serious injuries after crash
A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a crash on a Merseyside[1] flyover.
Police were called to Crosby Road South today, August 16, at around 1.40pm following a crash between a red Ford Fiesta and a motorbike. Officers closed Crosby Road South in both directions and a cordon was also in place at its junction with Church Road.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Traffic was held at the nearest southbound junction and pictures of the scene showed long queues.
According to traffic management system Inrix, the delays were between Knowsley Road and Princess Way also. Pictures of the scene showed four police cars in attendance and a number of officers.
When they ECHO[3] attended the scene, a number of cars, which were not involved in the crash, were stuck within the cordon. Police said they are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
