RECAP: Man dies after crash on Blackpark Road in Toomebridge

A man in his 20s has died following a serious crash in Co Antrim on Thursday morning.

His motorbike was involved in a collision with a lorry on the Blackpark Road in Toomebridge[1].

The Blackpark Road remains closed.

A PSNI[3] spokesperson said: “A man in his 20s has sadly died after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a lorry on the Blackpark Road in Toomebridge this morning, Thursday 17 August.

“The Blackpark Road remains closed.

“The death brings to 46 the number of people who have lost their lives on Northern Ireland’s roads in 2023.

A NIAS spokesperson said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 6:02 on Thursday, 17 August following reports of an RTC on Blackpark Road Area, Toombridge.

“NIAS despatched two emergency crews to the incident.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Antrim Area Hospital Hospital by Ambulance.”
