Rail strikes will cripple the country AGAIN on the last weekend of the summer holidays – with some parts of the network left with no service at all
- Rail strikes will be held by Aslef on Friday followed by RMT on Saturday
- Aslef overtime ban on Saturday will also impact services across Britain
Britain’s rail passengers face further chaos yet again over the coming days as two unions hold more strikes that will leave parts of the country with no service at all.
Members of the Aslef train drivers’ union will walk out this Friday – before the Rail, Maritime and Transport workers’ union (RMT) then holds a strike on Saturday.
Some 20,000 RMT members from 14 train companies are set to walk out on Saturday when, compounding the misery, Aslef will also impose an overtime ban.
The industrial action over the long-running pay dispute will see some providers cancel all trains on Friday, while others will be running severely limited services.
There will be no service at all on Friday on these 14 operators: Avanti West Coast, c2c, Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Island Line, London Northwestern Railway, Northern, Southeastern, Thameslink, Transpennine Express and West Midlands Railway.
