Police statement in full as man dies in Huddersfield Travelodge

A man has died in a Huddersfield Travelodge, police have confirmed.

At 1.28pm on Sunday, August 6, the police received a report of concern for safety for a man who was receiving medical treatment at a Travelodge. This took place on Leeds Road in Huddersfield.

The police arrived on the scene but the man was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. A cordon was put in place for initial enquiries to take place but it was later removed.

West Yorkshire Police[2] are not treating the death as suspicious. They said: “At 1.28pm yesterday (Sunday), police received a concern for safety call in relation to a man who was receiving medical attention at the Travelodge in Leeds Road, Huddersfield.

“The man was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. A scene was put in place for initial enquiries to be completed but this was later taken off. His death is not believed to be suspicious and a file has been prepared for the Coroner.”
