Plans for Skegness pub to be turned into business units
Plans have been submitted to turn a closed pub in Skegness[1] into business letting units with 18 car parking spaces. The Elysium on Wainfleet Road first opened in April 2018 but has now been inactive for several weeks.
An application recently submitted to East Lindsey[2] District Council has requested that the ground floor of the closed pub[3] can be turned into six distinct rental units. It is anticipated the units would be most suitable for small enterprises, ranging from accounting offices to hairdressing salons.
In the planning documents, the owners wrote: “Unlike in small villages, the loss of the public house will not be detrimental to the town as there are ample facilities elsewhere. Converting the ground floor of the building to provide small (Class E) units will not be detrimental to the viability of the town centre and likewise will have no effect on the allocated employment land in the town.

“The proposal will put the building back into use, providing employment opportunities and contributing to the year-round economy of Skegness.” The landlord has been seeking new tenants though social media promotions and designated as class 3, the spaces can accommodate a wide variety of businesses.
