Peckham High Street: 66-year-old man killed in collision with lorry …

Police are appealing for information after a 66-year-old man was killed in a collision with a lorry on Peckham High Street.

Emergency services had set up a large cordon following yesterday’s incident (August 23), stretching from the junction with Peckham Hill Street to the Acorn and Gaumont House Surgery.

Video footage showed an air ambulance landing in Peckham bus station, with sirens heard in the background. An eye-witness said another air ambulance also landed in the area.

A Met Police spokesperson told LondonWorld at the time: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 3.35pm on Wednesday, August 23 to reports of a lorry in collision with a pedestrian on Peckham High Street, SE15.

“Emergency services attended. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added it had sent “a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and a medic in a fast response car. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.”

The man’s next of kin has been informed, a Met Police spokesperson has now said. The driver of the lorry also stopped at the scene, and there have been no arrests.
