Patient taken to hospital after River Tees rescue
A patient was taken to hospital after being rescued from the River Tees.
Emergency services rushed to Stockton[1] on Wednesday afternoon following “concerns for a person’s welfare”. According to Cleveland Fire Brigade, three engines attended from Stockton, Thornaby[2] and Yarm[3] and one person was rescued from the river.
The brigade incident log reads: “Fire Brigade water rescue team rescued one person from the river, one casualty was transported to hospital via ambulance.
The incident took place near Teesdale Boulevard and was also attended by police and ambulance paramedics. A NEAS spokesperson has confirmed the patient was taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough[5] for further treatment.
A NEAS spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.32pm this afternoon (Wednesday, August 16) to concerns for a person’s welfare near Teesdale Boulevard, Stockton.
“We dispatched one ambulance crew, two clinical team leaders and a duty officer, and requested the support of our colleagues at Cleveland Fire Brigade[6] and Cleveland Police[7]. One patient was taken to The James Cook University Hospital[8] for further treatment.”
