Oxford Brookes: Plan for over 200 solar panels on building
The 217 panels would be spread across three roofs of the Clerici Building with each one generating 430W of energy.
The building is used for academic purposes and forms part of the Oxford Brookes University Business School.
The application site is situated within the Headington Hill Conservation Area but the building itself is not listed.
According to the plans, the plans will be built on flat roofs to reduce their visibility from the public streetscape.
An assessment has been carried out to access the possible effects of glint and glare from the panels.
No impact has been predicted due to exisiting vegetation and buildings in the area which are likely to obstruct views of reflecting panels.
The application was validated by Oxford City Council on July 27 but no decision date has been set yet.
