New popular Tripadvisor restaurant in Gloucester Quays opens

A new restaurant popular with TripAdvisor reviewers has opened in Gloucester Quays[1] giving diners more choice. Anatolian Palace[2] has opened at the site of the former Bella Italia, next to Five Guys.

The new restaurant opened today[3] (Tuesday August 29). But the Turkish cuisine venue comes to Gloucester on the back of some rave reviews earning an average five-star rating on TripAdvisor.

Diners have waxed lyrical about the food, the service and the atmosphere at both restaurants in Worcester and Stafford. And now it is Gloucester's[4] turn to see what all the fuss about.

Their website says: “Our dream is to transport our customers and indulge them in the best Turkish Cuisine this side of Anatolia, without the need to jump on a plane! We wanted to create a place for people to step away from their hectic lives and enjoy being treated like royalty from the moment they step inside Anatolian Palace Mediterranean Grill, and we have succeeded.”

It is three years since Bella Italia closed at units 90 and 91 when there was a mass closure of the Italian restaurant chain. Since then the unit has remained vacant.

Worcester-based Anatolian Palace offers a range of traditional Turkish cuisines using authentic ingredients, as well as a selection of meze and large Turkish Grill platters of Mediterranean-style meats for sharing. The cost of their main meals vary from £12.95 to £18.95.

One recent review on Tripadvisor of the Stafford branch gave it the full five stars. MrsM99 wrote: "Food was the nicest I have had in a long time... I would absolutely recommend this place."

While Barbados1999 said: "First visit and already making plans to return! We went early Thursday evening (6:30) and quite a few people in. Food was amazing, accompanied by Turkish beer - we had the Liver starter (yummy) a Mixed special and chicken in yoghurt for mains - no room for dessert until we saw the menu - we had two desserts between the four of us and there was more than enough. Finished off with Turkish tea and liqueur coffees."
