Murder investigation launched after man dies at home in early hours
A murder investigation has been launched after man died at a home in Rugby[1]. Police say they were called at 3.24am yesterday morning (Sunday, August 20) to a home in Overslade.
Paramedics also attended but, sadly, a man at the address was later pronounced deceased. No further details about the victim have been released.
But Warwickshire[2] Police have said two women and a man were arrested on suspicion of murder. At the time of publication the man remains in custody and the women have been released.
In a bid to reassure the community, Detective Superintendent Pete Hill said they believe it to be an’isolated’ incident and added there is no wider danger to residents.
“Our thoughts are with the loved ones and friends of the victim at this difficult time,” DS Hill said. “I know residents will feel shocked and concerned. At this time we believe this to be a contained, isolated incident and there is nothing to indicate any wider danger to the public.
“Officers and detectives will maintain a strong presence in the area – not only to gather evidence but also to make sure residents feels safe.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or visit the website here[3] citing incident 53 of 20 August.” Details can also be passed on via the independent charity Crimestoppers, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
