Motorists warned with several key roads to be affected by road …
Swindon Borough Council has released a list of various roadworks that are planned and the reasons for them to happen.
Among them includes repairs and maintenance by utility companies, more cable laying from City Fibre and closures so that Network Rail can inspect their infrastructure.
A council spokesperson said in a newsletter update: “You can take a look at this interactive map[1] which provides details of all roadworks across the Borough, and indicates which agencies are carrying out the work.”
Here is the council’s list of some, not all, of the roadworks expected over the next few weeks:
• Croft Road, Old Town – August 7 to September 8
Wales and West will be working under traffic signals for repairs and maintenance
• Lady Lane, Blunsdon – August 8 to 14
Thames Water will be working under traffic lights to lay a new pipe
• Gooch Street – August 9 to 11
Thames Water will be closing the road for sewer cleaning
• High Street, Chiseldon – August 9 to 11
Thames Water will be closing the road for repair and maintenance work
• Whitehouse Road – August 13 to 14
Network Rail will be closing the road during the night to examine their structure
• Hunts Hill, Broad Blunsdon – August 14 to 17
Swindon Borough Council will be repairing a wall following a road traffic collision
• Great Western Way, Blagrove – August 14 to 18
MBNL will be closing a lane overnight to install GPS equipment using a mobile platform
• Grove Hill, Highworth – August 21 to 23
Thames Water will be closing the road for repairs
• Highworth Road, South Marston – August 21 to 23
Openreach will be closing the road for a new duct to be installed
• Highworth Road, South Marston – August 21 to 24
Thames Water will be closing the road to install a new connection to an allotment
• Kingsdown Road, Stanton – August 21 to 31
Avtar will be working under traffic lights for drainage work
• William Street – August 21 to 29
Wales and West will be closing the road for repairs and maintenance
• Evelyn Street, Old Town – August 21 to 25
CityFibre will be closing the road to install a new fibre cable
