Motorcyclist in 20s killed in crash with lorry in East Yorkshire
A man in his 20s has died after his motorbike was in collision with a lorry near an East Yorkshire town.
The crash happened at about 12.30pm on Friday, August 25, on Snaith Bridge on the A1041, near Goole. The motorcyclist, riding a white Husqvarna 125, was in collision with a lorry.
The motorcyclist was travelling from Carlton towards Snaith and the lorry was travelling in the opposite direction. Sadly the rider died at the scene.
The road was closed for about ten hours following the collision. Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to help in their investigation.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police, which is leading the investigation, said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior the crash.
“If you have not already spoken to officers, please get in touch if you can help with information including dashcam footage or doorbell CCTV footage of either vehicle or the collision itself. Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to email [email protected][2] or call 101 and pass information for incident number 12230160340.”
The road was closed to allow emergency services to attend the collision and for collision investigators to examine the scene and recover the vehicles. The route reopened at around 10pm on Friday.
One person posted on social media that they had seen lots of emergency activity in the area. They said: “Just turned up to it with air ambulance just taking off and ambulances then lots of police turned up.”
Another post said: “So sad, and so sorry to hear this… my thoughts go out to his family.”
