Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after serious M5 crash
A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital after a serious crash on the M5 this morning (August 11). Emergency services were called to the collision, which also involved a car, at around 10.30am.
The crash took place on the northbound carriageway near Bridgwater. The motorway was closed between junctions 23 and 24 as police and paramedics attended the scene.
Avon and Somerset Police[1] said: "The M5 has been closed northbound between junctions 23 and 24 following a collision between a car and a motorcycle at about 10.30am this morning (Friday 11 August).
"Police and paramedics have attended the scene. The motorcyclist is being conveyed to hospital.
"The southbound carriageway was shut for a short time while the air ambulance attended, but has now reopened."
