Motorcycle rider dies in crash near St Austell

Police investigating a fatal crash on the B3274 near St Austell are appealing for witnesses.

Officers were called to the scene between Roche and Stenalees at 7.45am yesterday (Tuesday 1 August). The crash involved a tipper lorry and a green Kawasaki motorcycle.

As a result, a 39-year-old man from Roche, who was the motorcycle rider, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The female driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The road was closed while forensic collision investigation work was carried out at the scene. It was reopened at around 4.10pm.
