Dramatic footage shows the moment a Mercedes[1] ploughs into a garage before two teenagers[2] miraculously scramble alive out of the wreckage.
Bricks went flying before the car's doors open and the youths stumble out as emergency services race to the scene in Littleover, Derbyshire, on Sunday night.
The Mercedes A-Class caused significant damage to the garage. The incident provoked a large emergency service presence with two ambulances and a fire[3] engine also attending the scene.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 19-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital. A passenger in the vehicle, who was also in his teens, was taken to hospital. The picture has been released by the North Eastwood Road Safety Campaign group which is calling for road safety improvements in the area.
One of the victims was man in a white t-shirt. Footage shows him appear to stagger over to the road before collapsing. Then, a woman from the house rushes over to help before and a passerby joins. A third stranger then joins the group before an ambulance arrives.
( Twitter)The force say their injuries are not-life threatening. They want to hear from anyone who saw the car or the crash, in particular those who may have footage of the incident.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire police called for people to come forward. They said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any information or dashcam footage, is asked to contact us quoting the reference 23000471537."
