Mobile speed cameras catch 74 drivers at four speeding hot spots

Mobile speed cameras have been doing what they do best around Gloucestershire – catching speeding motorists[1]. The latest figures have been released and show where dozens of motorists breached 30mph limits.

Four locations were selected for the Camera Enforcement Team (CET) which sent mobile speed detection vans out earlier in the summer. The latest figures – which date back to the month of June – have just been released.

In total, 74 motorists were caught speeding that month on roads across Gloucestershire. Camera locations are selected based on collision records and community concerns about speeding.

Where speeders were caught

  • Abbeymead Avenue, Abbeymead, Gloucester (30mph): 15 exceeding speed limit
  • Stoke Road, Stoke Orchard, near Bishop’s Cleeve (30mph): 21 exceeding speed limit
  • Valley Road, Cinderford (30mph): 17 exceeding speed limit
  • A419 Stroud Road, Cirencester (30mph): 21 exceeding speed limit

The Camera Enforcement Team operates at dozens of sites each month but selects a handful as priority sites. The aim is to act as a reminder to motorists to obey the rules as make our roads as safe as possible
