Met Office issues yellow thunderstorm warning affecting Lincolnshire …
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms which covers the entire Lincolnshire coast[1]. The county’s coastline from Skegness[2] to Mablethorpe[3] is likely to be hit by thundery showers at times, with the warning in place from 8pm on Friday, August 18, to 5am on Saturday.
According to the Met Office, there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly in parts of the country. There is also a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services with spray and sudden flooding potentially leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
The Spalding area may also see some of the thundery weather at times. The Skegness forecast predicts heavy rain during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Steven Keates, said: “The main event arrives during Friday evening, with the potential for intense thunderstorms to break out over parts of England, bringing a lot of rain in a short period of time, along with the risk of hail and frequent lightning.
“At the same time heavy rain, initially arriving into the southwest, will fairly steadily move northeast, potentially bringing some substantial rainfall totals to parts of Northern Ireland and eastern Scotland in particular.”
