Met Office bank holiday forecast and exact times thunderstorms …

The summer bank holiday is almost here and while many will be hoping to get out and about over the long weekend, the forecast doesn't predict much sunshine.

Met Office meteorologists[1] have even said Liverpool could be hit by thunderstorms on Friday as the weather takes a turn for the worse. Experts are predicting a "mixture of sunshine and scattered showers through the day".

Showers "could turn heavy and locally thundery with the risk of hail", and the hourly forecast for Friday predicts any storms will arrive at 7pm and 8pm, when there is a 50-60% chance of rain.

Looking ahead to Saturday, the Met Office expects "heavy showers changing to sunny intervals by early evening", with highs of 16C that will feel more like 13C. Showers will continue into Sunday morning before it turns cloudy but largely dry, with a maximum 20% chance of rain from 10am.

Expected temperatures will be similar to those on Saturday, with lows of 14C and a real feel of 12C.

Monday looks set to be cloudy to begin with, before sunny intervals "by lunchtime". Highs of 17C are expected, though the Met Office has said the outlook for Saturday to Monday is "changeable", adding it will also be "breezy at times".
