Met Office and BBC weather forecast ‘variable’ conditions for August …
Essex residents could be facing “variable” weather conditions over the August bank holiday weekend according to forecasters. The bank holiday weekend is one of the last remaining opportunities for families to get out and about before the end of the school holidays in September.
Some people might choose the extended weekend to have a quick dash around the shops at Lakeside Shopping Centre, High Chelmer or Braintree Village in search of a bargain – or perhaps some last-minute back-to-school shopping essentials.
The forecasters have not provided an overly positive weather forecast for the next few days, however. The Met Office’s outlook for Saturday to Monday says: “Sunshine and showers Saturday. Showers turning slow-moving, heavy, and potentially thundery at times. Increasingly cloudy Sunday with patchy rain. Variable cloud and a few showers Monday. Temperatures near average.”
The BBC, meanwhile, says: “Saturday looks to become more unsettled as scattered, sharp showers develop through the day. However, there will be sunny spells at times. Shower activity is likely to continue on Sunday, most likely in the afternoon with variable amounts of cloud after a fairly bright start. Mostly dry and bright conditions on Monday with showers during the middle of the day. Trending cooler.”
