Meet the city business working to help others get around

A Gloucester mobility business which helps disabled and vulnerable people get around the city has been going from strength to strength. Ableworld Gloucester, in Longsmith Street, continues to grow with each passing week and a lot of that accomplishment is due to the fantastic new in-store team.

Each member of staff shares the same passion and drive for helping people and their community to maintain their independence and mobility, ensuring every person who comes into store feels comfortable and relaxed.

Store Manager Andy joined the company last year, and has been a valued ever since. Helping to build strong relationships throughout the local community and working hard to show people what we can do for them.

Before Ableworld ‘’I worked in the food sector but really wanted a career change where I could help people and feel like I really made a difference. I love that in this job, I now have the time to actually talk to customers and build a personal relationship with them too’’.

Having Andy onboard at Ableworld Gloucester has made the world of difference to the store. Outside of work Andy loves computer gaming, anything car related and hating mushrooms.

Stuart, Ableworld Gloucester’s deputy manager whose favourite aspect of the job is seeing how happy customers are when they leave the store with the right product for them and their needs.

‘’Why did I choose to work for Ableworld? To get back to my roots and actually help people in a way no other job can – help people maintain their independence’’.

Alongside his love for helping people, Stuart’s love for animals is second to none, he has a small menagerie at home of birds, fish, dogs and more, with so much to give were very happy Stuart’s part of our Ableworld Gloucester team.

Bridget, the newest team member at Ableworld Gloucester, loves rugby, supporting her local

Gloucester Rugby club. Bridget said ‘’I chose to work for Ableworld because I had 16 years care experience under my belt and felt it would be the perfect fit.’’ Bridget has fit right into the team and are excited for her care industry knowledge to set Gloucester store aside from its competitors even more.
