Match Preview | Dorking Wanderers vs York City

The Minstermen will look to secure their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon when they travel down to Meadowbank to take on Dorking Wanderers in the Vanarama National League.
City are back on the road once again this coming Saturday in the first of two games to be played over the coming days, which also sees the Minstermen return to the LNER Community Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday when we take on recently-relegated Rochdale.
Mikey Morton’s side travelled back up to North Yorkshire last weekend after Lenell John-Lewis scored a 93rd minute equaliser at Aldershot Town, which saw the Minstermen secure a late 1-1 draw on the road.
We take on a Dorking Wanderers side this coming Saturday who head into this fixture on the back of last weekend’s 3-0 defeat away from home at Solihull Moors.
In their opening four games, Dorking have only collected one league win, which came in a 2-1 home with over Southend United over a week ago.
Marc White’s side currently sit only one place and one point above the Minstermen in the National League table, so it’s a big important game for both sides as they look to battle it out on Saturday for all three points.
Dorking Wanderers vs York City will be played on Saturday 26th August, kicking off at 3pm. Here is all the information you need to know ahead of our trip to Meadowbank.

Tickets are available online for away supporters as well as on the day, however on the day tickets may be limited and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Buy in advance online to avoid disappointment.

DIRECTIONS
Stadium Postcode: RH4 1DX
Car: Leave the M25 at Junction 9 and take the A243 and then the A24 towards Dorking. After around 12 miles of mostly dual carriageway, you will reach the outskirts of Dorking. Continue past the turn off for the railway stations on your left and the Lincoln Arms. At the next roundabout take the fourth exit onto the A25 (Signposted Dorking Town Centre). After passing a BP Garage on your left continue straight along the High Street.
On reaching the White Horse Hotel on the left, turn right into Mill Lane (Signposted St Martin’s Walk Parking/Football Ground). At the fork in the road bear left for the St Martin’s Walk Car Park (Pay and Display £1 per hour), or bear right down the narrow lane to the ground entrance, which is at the bottom on the left. However, there is no parking available to visiting supporters at the ground.
The St Martin’s Walk Car Park holds over 350 cars so is of a fair size. If it is full then there are other pay and display car parks signposted off the High Street. There is plenty of street parking to be found on the other side of the ground to the High Street around Chalkpit Lane (RH4 1EY). Then at the bottom of this road, there is a footpath (across from the handy Dolphin Fish & Chip shop) going to the left that leads you to the ground.
Train: There is a National Rail strike on the day of the game and will affect services travelling up and down the country.
Supporters Bus: York Pullman are running a supporters bus to this weekend’s game down in Dorking. Pickup from Memorial Gardens in York City centre is at 7:45am, whilst collection in Acomb will take place 15 minutes later.
Tickets for this trip cost £50, whilst U16’s receive £5 off the advertised price when accompanied by an adult.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
City will head down to face Dorking this weekend in only the third-ever meeting between the two clubs.
Both sides secured themselves a victory last season in the two games between the two clubs. Dorking ran out 1-0 winners against the Minstermen last November, before goals from Manny Duku and Ryan Fallowfield helped secure an important 2-1 win for City at the back end of last season.
