Man seriously hurt after incident at building site

A man has been arrested following an incident at a West Country building site that left a man with serious head injuries. Detectives are still investigating the circumstances which occurred on North Quay in Hayle, Cornwall, on Friday, August 4.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the site after a man had been taken to hospital, Cornwall Live reports[1].

The man remains at Derriford Hospital in a stable condition. A 25-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. He has been released on police bail until 20 September.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Detectives are investigating the circumstances that could have led to a man becoming injured at a building site on North Quay, Hayle, on Friday, August 4.

“Police were called after a man was taken to Treliske Hospital with serious head injuries at around 10.30am, before being transferred to Derriford Hospital. He remains there in a stable condition.

“Following enquiries, a 25-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. He has been released on police bail until September 20. The investigation remains ongoing in relation to this matter.”
