Man charged after Glasgow cyclist dies in fatal crash seven months …
A man has been charged[1] in connection with a fatal collision in Glasgow's Broomielaw which led to the death of 22-year-old French cyclist Emma Newman.
Emergency services cordoned off the area in the city centre[2] after a collision involving a bike and lorry, after 10am on Friday January 27.
Student Emma, from Moulineaux in Paris, was injured following the incident at the junction with the King George V Bridge at around 10.10am.
She died shortly after being rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.[3]
The road was closed for nine hours to allow for investigation work to be carried out.
Seven months after the incident, a 69-year-old man has been charged.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 69-year-old man has been charged in connection with a collision which resulted in the death of a cyclist in Glasgow.

The cyclist, a 22-year-old woman, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she died a short time later.
"The man will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal."
