Main route closed for several hours after truck leaves road

The incident occurred on the B4696 Ashton Road near Aston Keynes on Tuesday morning involving a lorry.

There were only minor injuries from the collision.

The crane-mounted truck, which was carrying road warning signs in the back, can be seen face-first in a hedgerow after leaving the road.

It is likely, but confirmed, that the delay in removing the obstruction was because of the sheer size and weight of the vehicle.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Thanks to Wiltshire Council Highways for their assistance.”
