M74 motorway crash causes rush-hour tailbacks as emergency …
Emergency services raced to the M74 motorway near Hamilton after a crash[1] this morning (August 2).
The collision took place on the northbound stretch at J6 with a lane closure in place.
It is understood that all lanes have now reopened but the on slip from Hamilton remains partially blocked due to debris on the carriageway.
Motorists travelling in that direction have been warned of delays up to 25 minutes.
A Traffic Scotland spokesperson said: “Lane 1 and the On Slip CLOSED Northbound due to a collision. Emergency services are at scene
“All lanes now running Northbound at Junction 6 however the On Slip remains partially blocked due to debris on the carriageway.
“Traffic continues to build with approx. 25 minute delay on the approach.”
We have contacted Police Scotland[3] and the Scottish Ambulance Service for a comment.
