M6, M53, M56, M57 and M58 motorway closures starting August 28
Sections of the M6, M53, M56, M57 and M58 will close over the coming week.
The motorways, which runs through Merseyside, will see closures this week (Monday, August 28 - Sunday, September 3) as National Highways continue to repair the region's roads. This week there are two planned weekend closures on the M6 and M56 according to the National Highways journey planning tool.
Here are the motorway closures you can expect in Merseyside this week.

Monday, August 28
No closures
Tuesday, August 29
The M6 northbound between junction 21 and 23 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 southbound between junctions 20 and 22 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M56 westbound between junctions 11 and 14 will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.
The M56 eastbound between junctions 11 and 14 will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.
The M57 southbound between junctions one and two will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
Wednesday, August 30
The M6 northbound between junction 21 and 23 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 southbound between junctions 20 and 23 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M53 northbound between junctions nine and 10 will have one lane closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M53 southbound between junctions nine and 12 will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M56 westbound between junctions 11 and 12 will be closed between 9pm and 5am.
The M57 southbound between junctions one and two will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M57 northbound between junctions one and two will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M58 between junctions one and the M57 will have one lane closed between 8pm and 6am.
Thursday, August 31
The M6 northbound between junction 21 and 21A will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 southbound between junctions 20 and 23 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M53 northbound between junctions nine and 10 will have one lane closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M53 southbound between junctions nine and 10 will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
The M57 southbound between junctions one and two will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
Friday, September 1
The M6 northbound between junction 21 and 22 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M6 southbound between junctions 20 and 23 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M56 westbound between junctions 11 and 12 will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.
The M56 eastbound between junctions 11 and 12 will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.
The M57 southbound between junctions one and two will be closed between 8pm and 6am.
Saturday, September 2
The M6 southbound between junctions 20 and 21 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
The M56 westbound between junctions 11 and 12 will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.
The M56 eastbound between junctions 11 and 12 will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.
Sunday, September 3
The M6 southbound between junctions 20 and 21 will be closed between 9pm and 6am.
