Long delays on M25 after lorry sheds load of bricks – recap
Motorists faced long delays on the M25[1] on Thursday morning (August 31) after a lorry shed its load of bricks on the vital motorway. The incident was first reported shortly after 8.30am and took place on the anticlockwise carriageway between Junction 13 for Staines and Junction 12 for the M3.
The load has blocked one lane of five and resulted in heavy traffic. Approximately five miles of congestion built in the area.
National Highways reported delays of at least 30 minutes as a result. Motorists were told they should allow extra time for their journeys and expect delays to travel.
National Highways’ estimated normal traffic conditions would resume between late morning and midday. Traffic cameras in the area show heavy traffic built on the anticlockwise carriageway towards Heathrow and Junction 14.
An update from National Highways South East stated at the time: “Long delays on the M25 anticlockwise between J13 Staines and J12 (M3) due to a shed load of bricks which is blocking 1 lane (of 5). There are about 5 miles of congestion which is causing around half an hour delay.”
