Live updates as motorway closed due to lorry on fire
The M62 has been closed by emergency services due to a lorry fire.
A section of the motorway westbound is closed from J7 A57 Warrington Road (Rainhill Stoops) to J6 M57 J1 (Tarbock Island).
The closure is in place as National Highways officers, police and the fire service are in attendance.
Heavy traffic is being reported as a result, with vehicles at a stand still.
