Recap: Delays after lorry and car collision on M6

A crash between a lorry and a car closed two lanes on the M6 earlier this evening. Traffic was queuing due to the smash on the northbound carriageway between junction 18 and junction 19 in Cheshire.

Lanes three and four were closed at around 6.45pm. Live traffic cameras showed congestion built and motorists were warned to expect delays.

A spokesperson for traffic information service Inrix said: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry and a car involved on M6 northbound from J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich/Homles Chapel) to J19 A556 (Knutsford). Lanes three and four (of four) are closed"

Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for a comment.
