Jaguar driver and passenger flee crash by escaping in another car

The driver and a passenger of a Jaguar fled the scene of a crash by hopping into another car.

Police were called to reports of a crash at the top of junction 7 of the M53[1] southbound, towards Chester, at 2.34pm on Monday, August 14. The crash involved two cars, a blue Jaguar, and a black Vauxhall Corsa.

Both cars had substantial damage, police said. Following the crash, the driver and the passenger got out of the Jaguar and got into a second black Vauxhall Corsa which had stopped at the scene.

The car then drove off towards junction 8 of the M53[3] Southbound. The driver who remained at the scene did not sustain any serious injuries. Police said they are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or anyone with any dashcam footage of the incident.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police[4] said: “Thankfully the driver who remained at the scene did not sustain any serious injuries, however the outcome could have been far worse, and officers are committed to doing all they can to establish exactly what took place.

“As part of their investigation officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with any dashcam footage of the incident.”

Anyone with any information or video footage in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 1602635. Information can also be reported online at www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us[5].
