Glasgow M8 junctions closed after ‘serious collision’ as police rush …
A ‘serious collision’ has closed off two junctions on the busy M8 motorway this afternoon (August 24).
Emergency services scrambled to the westbound carriageway at J12 following the incident which took place just before 2pm.
J12 and J13 remain closed due to a single-vehicle crash with officers currently at the scene.
Motorists[1] have been advised to ‘avoid the area’ and plan ahead.
A Traffic Scotland spokesperson said: “The M8 Westbound is currently closed at junction 12 due to a serious collision.
“Traffic is beginning to back up at J12 where traffic is being taken off the main carriageway. Police and TRISS are on scene.”
Police Scotland confirmed they are in attendance.
A spokesperson said: “The M8 is currently closed westbound between junctions 12 and 13 in Glasgow due to a crash involving a single vehicle. Officers are at the scene.

“Please plan journeys to avoid the area and use alternative routes.”
The nature of injuries, if any, are not known at this stage.
