Four teens and pensioner in hospital after major East Kilbride crash

Four teenagers and a pensioner have been rushed to hospital after a major collision involving four vehicles.

Emergency services[1] raced to the scene on the Kingsway in East Kilbride[2] at around 10.30pm last night, August 16, after they received reports of a pile-up involving three cars and a bus.

Two men aged 18 and 72, and three women, two aged 16 and a 17-year-old, were raced to hospital.[3] The condition of those injured remains unknown.

The A725 is still closed following the incident and investigators remain on the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.30pm on Wednesday, 16 August, 2023 we were called to a report of a crash involving three cars and a bus on the A725, Kingsway, East Kilbride near the Birniehill Roundabout.

"Emergency services attended. Five people, two men aged 18 and 72, and three females, two aged 16 and a 17-year-old, were taken by ambulance to hospital.

"The A725 remains closed between the Whitemoss and Birniehill Roundabouts while crash investigations are carried out."
